I am based in the in the north east of England. I studied Fine Art at Winchester School of Art in the 80’s.

Post graduation I chose a career outside of art but continued to paint in my spare time. I have retained the same passion for art I had as a student and have travelled widely across Europe visiting museums and historic sites.

In 2020 I was able to take early retirement and this gave me the opportunity to spend more time painting. One of the first things I did was create this website.

In 2022 we moved out to the countryside and this really propelled my painting forward. Alongside this I was able to build a dedicated painting studio and so looking ahead I have all the advantages a painter could wish for.

2025 having made trips to Mexico since 2006 I started painting in Mexico in 2025, spending 3-4 months there. This proved to be very productive, and this practice will continue every year. The different culture and sights creates a very rich and diverse subject matter.
