AN EQUIVALENT UNIVERSE

I love these grandiose, pompous headlines, it gives the impression that I am involved with something that deserves attention. I thought this painting was going to be another near miss and that todays session was just going to conclude events. However, I did more work on it than expected and it has raised my expectations. This painting has got a lovely crusty, built texture to the paint. To me this is not a mannerism but is part of a long process of searching for the forms, light and space that is peculiar to my style. Its always curious to me that I cannot immediately arrive at this point but have to take a long and winding road. This painting is finished.
